![]() For many long years I had pondered what I might do, should the Great Ring come into my hands, and behold! it was brought within my grasp. I do not deny that my heart has greatly desired to ask what you offer. Gently are you revenged for my testing of your heart at our first meeting. 'Wise the Lady Galadriel may be,' she said, 'yet here she has met her match in courtesy. Galadriel laughed with a sudden clear laugh. 'I will give you the One Ring, if you ask for it. 'You are wise and fearless and fair, Lady Galadriel,' said Frodo. Yet I could wish, were it of any avail, that the One Ring had never been wrought, or had remained for ever lost.' For the fate of Lothlórien you are not answerable but only for the doing of your own task. Yet they will cast all away rather than submit to Sauron: for they know him now. 'The love of the Elves for their land and their works is deeper than the deeps of the Sea, and their regret is undying and cannot ever wholly be assuaged. 'That what should be shall be,' she answered. We must depart into the West, or dwindle to a rustic folk of dell and cave, slowly to forget and to be forgotten.'įrodo bent his head. Yet if you succeed, then our power is diminished, and Lothlórien will fade, and the tides of Time will sweep it away. Do you not see now wherefore your coming is to us as the footstep of Doom? For if you fail, then we are laid bare to the Enemy. ![]() ' He suspects, but he does not know - not yet. This is Nenya, the Ring of Adamant, and I am its keeper. Verily it is in the land of Lórien upon the finger of Galadriel that one of the Three remains. But it cannot be hidden from the Ring-bearer, and one who has seen the Eye. 'Yes,' she said, divining his thought, 'it is not permitted to speak of it, and Elrond could not do so. Frodo gazed at the ring with awe for suddenly it seemed to him that he understood. Its rays glanced upon a ring about her finger it glittered like polished gold overlaid with silver light, and a white stone in it twinkled as if the Evenstar had come down to rest upon her hand. So bright was it that the figure of the Elven-lady cast a dim shadow on the ground. Eärendil, the Evening Star, most beloved of the Elves, shone clear above. She lifted up her white arms, and spread out her hands towards the East in a gesture of rejection and denial. And he gropes ever to see me and my thought. I say to you, Frodo, that even as I speak to you, I perceive the Dark Lord and know his mind, or all of his mind that concerns the Elves. ![]() Do not be afraid! But do not think that only by singing amid the trees, nor even by the slender arrows of elven-bows, is this land of Lothlórien maintained and defended against its Enemy. 'I know what it was that you last saw,' she said 'for that is also in my mind. Hubris was the folly of many elves in Middle-Earth, and Celebrimbor probably fell prey to the same drive as Feanor (who is also his ancestor, IIRC, which makes it kind of fitting since I think there was a doom cast on his descendents, though it's been ages since I read the Silmarillion).Stepped back shaking all over and looked at the Lady. Sauron even lampshades this, saying that even if Celebrimbor were to destroy him, he's becoming exactly what he hopes to cast down. Build an empire out of his orcish slave army, ostensibly to ensure that evil can never arise again. But towards the end, I have the distinct impression that after he destroys Sauron, he plans to rebuild Eregion and 1984 it up. They're just like 'nah, Frodo, you do it', with a subtext of 'if you become evil it's not like you can actually do anything with the power anyway'.Ĭelebrimbor, on the other hand, appears to start out with at least reasonable plans in mind. Which is why Gandalf, Elrond, Glorfindel, Galadriel, and basically anyone who's worth a damn in LOTR refuses to touch it. The main drive of LOTR is that to desire the ring makes you just as bad as Sauron, and you would probably be just as evil as he is. ![]() Now, the vanilla game's ending is another debate, with which I honestly believe that Talion has become corrupted and will be using Celebrimbor as a weapon to further hunt down Sauron's forces in the next game (IF there is one in the future). All the bad things that occur in this game are due to Sauron Celebrimbor / Talion are more neutral characters who both want revenge on Sauron who ordered the attack on the Black Gate, etc.Īgain, I emphasize: Sauron is the cause of all this trouble in this game / is responsible for Talion's grief. The end cutscene for The Bright Lord was Celebrimbor realizing that this was his moment to get revenge on Sauron. Lord_of_the_Bacon eredeti hozzászólása:OP, that is not the case at all.
